A new member in white house Bo Obama is a six month old Portuguese water dog. He is very fond of eating tomatoes. The breed Portuguese water dog is popularly known as PWD. It is a water spaniel breed of hunting dog. They were earlier used at coastal area of Portugal by fishers for the fishing purposes. They also dived into the sea to recollect broken nets which fell into the sea and also to search for the other submerged objects. They also alerted the nearby boats about the foggy condition by their loud bark. In Portugal they are also known as ?Portugal fishing dog?.

Portuguese water dogs are of two popular kinds. One is wavy haired and the other one is curly coated, whereas some have both kinds of hair. They are in color of black, black-white, brown and silver-tipped but usually are in black and brown colors. They are of medium size with height of male Portuguese water dogs ranging from 20 to 23 inches and weight from 40 to 60 pounds. While the female breeds? height ranges from 19 to 21 inches and weight from 35 to 50 pounds.
